Okay, so it’s been some time since I last updated this blog. I have to say though that I’ve read many and it’s been fun to read about what’s going on in the lives of my friends! Well a couple fun things here, we moved! We are actually house sitting for a year. It’s a great house, a nice addition that they put on a few years ago. We have about 5 or so acres half of which are woods that bumps up to a golf course and the other half that Brian is going to have to cut! We also have a pond with fish, pool, bond fire pit, a barn (where some fun stuff can go on with the middle school kids Brian works with at church!) and a trampoline! I am so excited about the kitchen, I love to cook but in our apartment the kitchen (like most kitchen apartments) it wasn’t very big ~ I often joked that it was a 1 butt kitchen! Anyway, with a small kitchen I wasn’t super thrilled about cooking but now ~ wow it’s huge! I can put a tomato on the counter and it doesn’t roll off! If you saw pictures from my apartment you’ll know that NOTHING was flat or even! (It’s fun memories though of our 1st place together!) With this house we’ve also inherited a dog and outside stray cat! I’m not even sure that the cat has a name ~ I asked once and she said “I don’t know, I just call it the cat”! The dog is on his last leg ~ the vet wouldn’t even give him his shots last month because he said that he wouldn’t make it through the year! Great a dead dog on my watch… I guess I’m glad that the vet told her that was a possibility. I really feel blessed to have this house. She isn’t charging us rent, just a little in utilities! Which is a huge help with Brian still in school and working part time.
Dog update: cute Jake died on Friday. (I wrote this obviously before this all happened). He had been in some pain for about a week. He got to the point where he couldn't get up once he was down and when he was up it hurt too much to lay down ~ so he just walked around until he fell down. It was really sad. We called the lady who we're house sitting for and ask her if we should call the vet (she told us once that if he seemed to be in pain that we should let her know) she said to try to wait until the weekend because she was coming home. So we did but in the mean time he fell in the neighbors pond and couldn't get out and then Friday his legs just completely stopped working. We layed him down outside and left for work and he wasn't alive. It was sad, I told Brian that we might not be able to have pets because I only knew Jake for a month and I shed a tear! I eventually got over it. So Saturday when the owner came home we buried him in the back yard ~ "under his oak tree"! Valerie (the owner) asked Brian to say a few words at his funeral, at that point I thought well Brian can add that he officiated a funeral on his resume. Ha Ha! I had to try not to laugh. He really didn't say much ~ we just told some funny stories and then got on with our day.

This is Jake when we first moved here in September.
Brian and I took a great bike ride yesterday, this is right out side of winking lizard where we stopped for dinner! What a beautiful day.
Here's the front of the house.

My favorite room!! The kitchen! Come on over!!!!
